Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation in an Emerging Market Context (EGADE Guadalajara Campus)

The Global Network Week (GNW) addresses entrepreneurship and corporate innovation in the context of Mexico. Both activities are crucial for the sustained economic development of Latin America, especially in a country like Mexico, which has a unique blend of challenges and opportunities. Innovation activities are challenged by weak institutions, vulnerable markets, public security, and income inequalities. Opportunities prevail regarding a growing middle class, increased access to technology, and Mexico’s strategic position within supply chains underscored by the country’s proximity to the United States. Companies in the country are increasingly leveraging technology to drive social and economic transformation, contributing to more inclusive growth and sustainable development. Furthermore, a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation is important to not only drive domestic growth but to ensure long-term prosperity and resilience in the global economy. During the week, participants explore how companies accomplish entrepreneurship and innovation not only for the domestic but also international markets. This involves developing an understanding about the country context and the firm-specific characteristics as well as the application of that knowledge for the creation of a business concept innovation.
