This elective course introduces students to the changing trends in the business, which is making it imperative for organizations to focus on using technology to improve business performance whether it means creating new products or reimagining current processes.
Over the last three decades, the prevailing view of information technology strategy has been that it is a functional-level strategy that must be aligned with the firm's chosen business strategy. During the last decade, the business infrastructure has become digital with increased interconnections among products, processes, and services. This fusion is herein termed digital business strategy. This module introduces students to some of the emerging trends in the "new world" and prepares them to think of strategy and innovation in a digital context.
