In the 1990’s, when the reputation as the copier of the world was added to China’s title as the factory of the world, no one expected to see innovative products and services come out of this country. In its efforts to become an economic superpower, China has to prove that it is capable of innovating and leading other economies. During this GNW we showcase China’s rise in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship and engage the visiting students in a conversation about China's development in the near future and whether it will be able to join the advanced economies’ club. Through lectures, seminars, and company visits, we explore innovation and entrepreneurship in old and new industries. Students will become familiarized with market and social innovation in China, and also learn about opportunities that exist for start-up companies.
