International Finance examines the concepts, theories, and analytical tools used by multinational corporations (MNCs) to manage financial decisions in an increasingly globalized business environment. The course covers key areas of international corporate finance, including the international monetary system, foreign exchange markets, international parity conditions, exchange rate risk, currency futures and options, interest rate risk and swaps, and international trade finance.
The course also focuses on strategic financial decision-making in a multinational context, including international capital structure, currency exposure management, multinational capital budgeting, and foreign direct investment. Students develop the ability to analyze how monetary and exchange rate policies affect corporate financial decisions, identify arbitrage and competitive advantage opportunities arising from global markets, assess different types of currency exposure, and evaluate political risks associated with foreign direct investment.
Through participant-centered learning, combining lectures, case analyses, and class discussions, students are expected to develop practical analytical skills for addressing international finance challenges faced by multinational firms.
